It's good to be getting back into the swing of things. I've been living in my own house for 6 months, daughter is now 18 months old, and it's been two years since I've had the last North World book published. Honestly it really sucks. The only alternative would have been to make myself miserable forcing out a Kailee Chornicles book. I didn't want to do that to myself, or my editor, or my publisher, or the readers or anybody. So now my friends are putting out much-acclaimed work, making lives out of it, and I feel like I'm back at square one. I'm also probably losing my job next week, but I might get a new one right after. It's anybody's guess.
There's pretty much no way that I could make a living off of comics RIGHT NOW... so yeah square one. I finished a pretty silly 8 page comic a month ago for the next Lava Punch anthology, and just a moment ago I finished the thumbnails for my new mini comic, Penultimate Quest. It's actually a bit of departure for me, it's much more a character piece then a story, which is kind of fun. It feels complete thematically, and maybe that's the big win. I've got some ideas for new stories.
Now it's just a matter of figuring out how to mature and grow a bit wiser without becoming cold and losing the vim and vigor I set out with.
